Today during AIM, the German National Honor Society hosted its first induction ceremony.
“It’s been a goal for quite a long time to start a German NHsS chapter here, and this is the year we were able to get it going,” Frau Gnagy, sponsor and German teacher, said. “So we have students in German 3, 4, and 5 who were eligible based on certain criteria. Next year, we’ll induct some more people based on the criteria.”
The club inducted seven students today, including sophomore Oliver Anspach, who said German NHS would look good on his resume.
He added, “I want to learn more about the German culture and language.”
Senior Ava Katona said she joined because Frau Gnagy told her about it.
“I really love the German language,” Katona said. “Being part of this organization will help me grow my German language skills and learn more about German culture and all things that have to do with German.”
