Freshman Luci Sendelbach is in her first year of staff. So far, she has worked on Instagram captions, taken photos and written web stories. Sendelbach is involved in clubs such as Best Buddies and Student Government. Sendelbach loves to bake for family and friends, read and travel.

Junior Ella Jansing works on a craft during a Spanish Honor Society meeting. During this meeting students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by doing various activities. “For Hispanic Heritage Month we were making worry dolls, which are a traditional craft,” Jansing said. “My favorite part was working with the people around me to think of creative designs for our dolls.”

In this meeting each member drew a picture and in the end it turned into a cohesive drawing. “My favorite part of art club is being surrounded by my friends who love to draw as much as me,” Ackermann said.

While attending the Best Buddies callout meeting, freshman Claire Lollar sits down and plays Connect Four with freshman William Mangold. “I went to the call out meeting because I love making new friends no matter what abilities they have,” Lollar said. “I believe that even if someone has what we call special needs they should be able to be involved in meaningful relationships with their other peers.” The club’s goal is to make fellow students with IDD feel accepted, loved and welcomed.
