Juniors Rabica Tial and Callie Painter sign up for AP Registration in the CGHS Auditorium. Tial and Painter both signed up for AP Lang and AP United Stated History. “Last year was my first year taking an AP class, so I knew how important registration was in order to take my AP tests in May,” Tial said.

Sophomore Jayden Winkle raises money for food banks by setting up donations at Kroger on 135. He played Christmas music and other songs to bring entertainment to the entrance. “When I started working here I came up with the idea to play music to raise money for the food banks. Kroger does this every year around Christmas and I thought playing guitar would be a good idea,” Winkle said.
This Week at CG (12/9-12/13)
Company Manager and senior Phoebe Ferguson rehearses with the Debtones in order to prepare for the winter concert, “Noel,” happening from December 5th through December 8th. The Debtones have been practicing and running through their numbers in the Christmas show since as early as June, with each of the members doing their part to make the group's performance up to their standard. “I am so happy how well our group has come together within the past couple of months, there’s been a lot of girls that help each other with choreography and singing while all coming together as new friends,” Ferguson said.
This Week At CG (12/2 - 12/7)
Freshman Richard Wilbur looks through a microscope to discover which phase of mitosis that an onion root is. The purpose of the activity was to help students learn to identify phases of mitosis on real objects. “The microscope helped me be able to see the onion root tip, understand mitosis better, and apply my skills,” Wilbur said.
This Week at CG (11/18-11/22)
Junior Ella Timmons discusses community outreach idea with fellow SALT members. The club meeting on Wednesday allowed students to discuss successes and failures of the previous Trick or Treat with the Trojans event and they plan future community outreach events for the next sports seasons. ”SALT is important because it’s a way to share ideas with other student athletes like yourself,” Timmons said. ”It’s rewarding to spread positivity and smiles throughout our community.”
This Week at CG (11/11-11/15)
Junior Claire Lollar listens on the phone during "Bye Bye Birdie". Claire plays the role of Kim McAffee in the musical. "I love theater," Lollar said. "It's just a different way to express yourself compared to other forms of art. It's just a fun way to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. The different shows each year have a different dynamic especially figuring out the show, the sets, all the transitions and the costuming. It's also a different bond. Last year, it was like a family and this year it's even more of a family. Even though it's still a lot of people, we all have gotten so close over the past few months."
This Week At CG (10/28 - 11/1)
Sophomores Sierra Ferry and Addi Badger build protection for their egg drop during the Science National Honors Society meeting. Students went out to the band tower and then proceeded to drop their egg to test their egg’s protection. “It was fun building the contraptions for the drop and I liked seeing how creative everyone was being,” Ferry said.

When she isn’t busy reviewing articles by other staff writers, Lidy enjoys writing student features, opinion pieces, and taking sports photos. In addition to Publications, Lidy is a member of the Center Grove Girl’s Track team and an avid particpant in Best Buddies.

Junior Ella Mitchell is in her first year on staff. She mainly writes features and lists. In her free time she runs track and coaches gymnastics.

Freshman Luci Sendelbach is in her first year of staff. So far, she has worked on Instagram captions, taken photos and written web stories. Sendelbach is involved in clubs such as Best Buddies and Student Government. Sendelbach loves to bake for family and friends, read and travel.

Sophomore Ameerah Ayanfowora is a first year staff member. In Publications, she has helped contribute to yearbook spreads and article features. Outside of publications, Ayanfowora loves baking and spending time with her family.
