“Showing On Senior Sarah Hendrix performs in front of a crowd during halftime at a Boys Varsity Basketball game vs. Mooresville on Feburary 18, as part of a ancestral team routine. The dance team performed as part of a two-event halftime show that night, immediately before the Best Buddies basketball game. “It feels a little nerve-wracking, but you also know that everyone there is a CG fan,” Hendrix said. “It’s also just fun getting to perform for others because they don’t really get to see our competition dances.””

Gabe Sunga
Sophomores Aksh Ranjan and Ryan Wang work on their house project in Anne Elsner’s honors physics class. The project challenged students to create a home with five rooms, and wire up lights, fans, and doorbells using electric circuits. “The project definitely helped me see how circuits work in real life,” Ranjan said. “I enjoyed building and creatively designing the house. Making things like the fan and chandelier was fun.”

In Danielle Myers AP Biology class, juniors Allison Hopkins and Audrey Johnston place their gel electrophoresis trays onto a transilluminator to examine and photograph the stained gel of lambda DNA. The lab has allowed students to be able to look at DNA fragments and how these fragments cut themselves during gel electrophoresis to base-pair size. "I learned how to stain and rinse gels to look at lambda DNA and measure its migration distance for our Restriction Enzyme Lab," Hopkins said. "It was interesting to see the relationship between the molecular weight of DNA fragments and its mobility on the gels."

While at the crochet club meeting, senior Vanessa Tidrow weaves together a gift for a friend. Crochet club meets every Tuesday during AIM. “I love crocheting because it gives me a chance to express myself and also being able to help others express themselves too,” Tidrow said.
This Week at CG (2/3-2/7)
" Elaina Cisneros hands a student a vibrant blue drink she just prepared. Throughout the day, she’s been busy crafting beverages and keeping the café running smoothly. “Seeing students enjoy what I make is the best part of my job,” Cisneros said."
This Week at CG (1/27-1/31)
Teacher Danielle Munn plans a STaR party with her senior STaR class. “I really enjoy doing STaR parties because they really bring the class together and we have time to get to know each other more,” Munn said. The class plans on having their STaR party next Friday.
This Week at CG (1/20-1/24)
Isaac Lewis works diligently in pottery class, shaping a small bowl on the spinning clay wheel. Earlier in the semester, students learned basic techniques for molding clay and have now progressed to creating functional pieces.
This Week At CG (1/13-1/17)
Sophomore Jayden Winkle raises money for food banks by setting up donations at Kroger on 135. He played Christmas music and other songs to bring entertainment to the entrance. “When I started working here I came up with the idea to play music to raise money for the food banks. Kroger does this every year around Christmas and I thought playing guitar would be a good idea,” Winkle said.

Sophomore Gabe Sunga is on staff for his first year. His primary focus is writing stories, but he has also contributed in photography and the yearbook. Sunga has run track and cross country both years of his highschool career. In his free time he enjoys playing video games and pickleball with friends.

Jonathon Sutton is a third-year staff writer and photographer. He intermittently writes opinion pieces and occasional feature articles for the website, but primarily focuses on photography & video in and around CG, including extracurricular clubs and sporting events. He built his own gaming PC over the course of a summer, and tries his best to be an approachable friend to all.
