General

Students begin school on Tuesday, Aug. 6 with a pink day schedule. Students will begin the day in their STaR classes.
Students who did not attend registration can get an ID photo taken in the guidance office. Yearbook photos will be taken on Sept. 25 for underclassmen and Nov. 21-22 for seniors.

Academic

C9 students will report to the Media Center during 4th period on Tuesday. Students will return to STaR at 10:05 and leave for C9 at 10:45. C9 students are reminded to cge8fh to 81010 to join the Remind 101 group for important C9 information.
Global Campus seat waivers will not begin until September.
The Media Center will open for student use during study hall on Aug. 19

Clubs

Peer Tutors will meet during STaR on Friday, Aug. 9.

Sports

This Week at CG

Sophomore Jayden Winkle raises money for food banks by setting up donations at Kroger on 135. He played Christmas music and other songs to bring entertainment to the entrance. “When I started working here I came up with the idea to play music to raise money for the food banks. Kroger does this every year around Christmas and I thought playing guitar would be a good idea,” Winkle said.

This Week at CG (12/9-12/13)

Company Manager and senior Phoebe Ferguson rehearses with the Debtones in order to prepare for the winter concert, “Noel,” happening from December 5th through December 8th. The Debtones have been practicing and running through their numbers in the Christmas show since as early as June, with each of the members doing their part to make the group's performance up to their standard. “I am so happy how well our group has come together within the past couple of months, there’s been a lot of girls that help each other with choreography and singing while all coming together as new friends,” Ferguson said.

This Week At CG (12/2 – 12/7)

Freshman Richard Wilbur looks through a microscope to discover which phase of mitosis that an onion root is. The purpose of the activity was to help students learn to identify phases of mitosis on real objects. “The microscope helped me be able to see the onion root tip, understand mitosis better, and apply my skills,” Wilbur said.

This Week at CG (11/18-11/22)

Junior Ella Timmons discusses community outreach idea with fellow SALT members. The club meeting on Wednesday allowed students to discuss successes and failures of the previous Trick or Treat with the Trojans event and they plan future community outreach events for the next sports seasons. ”SALT is important because it’s a way to share ideas with other student athletes like yourself,” Timmons said. ”It’s rewarding to spread positivity and smiles throughout our community.”

This Week at CG (11/11-11/15)

Junior Claire Lollar listens on the phone during "Bye Bye Birdie". Claire plays the role of Kim McAffee in the musical. "I love theater," Lollar said. "It's just a different way to express yourself compared to other forms of art. It's just a fun way to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. The different shows each year have a different dynamic especially figuring out the show, the sets, all the transitions and the costuming. It's also a different bond. Last year, it was like a family and this year it's even more of a family. Even though it's still a lot of people, we all have gotten so close over the past few months."
