General

The homecoming dance will be October 5 from 7-10 p.m. You must have an RDT on file in order to buy tickets. If you are bringing a guest from another school, you must pick up a form from the guidance office. Tickets will be on sale from Sept. 30 – Oct. 4 during lunch periods. They are $5 in advance, $10 at the door. If you plan to bring a guest from another school, please pick up a form in the Guidance Office. Due back Oct. 3.

Picture Retakes have been postponed because of printing delays for underclassmen photos. Lifetouch will take retakes, staff pictures, and pictures of anyone who was not here for registration on Oct. 7. CGHS will distribute underclassmen photos as soon as they arrive to the school.

Operation Bundle Up is in full swing! All CG schools will be collecting new and gently used coats through Oct. 11.

Saints Francis & Clare Church is hiring high school students for after school positions working with children. Email Sonny Moore at [email protected]for more information.

  • College Go! Week begins Sept. 23 with Spirit Week.
    • Monday – Future Occupation
    • Tuesday – Dress like your favorite teacher
    • Wednesday – Favorite College T-shirt (staff can wear jeans on this day)
    • Thursday – Throwback to the 90’s
    • Friday – College Sweatshirt DaySend pictures of your spirit attire each day to Mrs. Chaplin ([email protected]) and be entered for a chance to win prizes.
  • College Reps will be in the Guidance Office during STaR. Sign up to talk with reps or just pick up info!

  • Be sure to check the Guidance Newsletter for colleges which will waive application fees this week including Indiana State University, Vincennes University, USI, and Wabash College.

 

Clubs

  • FCA will host See You at the Pole on Wednesday at 7 a.m. in the Hall of Excellence.
  • Math National Honors Society will have our first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. in room 334 on Thursday, Sept. 26. This is a call out meeting for new members and an opportunity for all old member to discuss the upcoming years activities. Attendance will be taken!
  • Book Forum will hold its first discussion on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7:00 a.m. in room 162.  They will discuss “The Shining” by Stephen King.  See Mrs. McDougal in 162 with questions.

Music

  • Fall Fest will be Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7 p.m.
  • Marching band will play in the Ben Davis Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Sports
Center Grove Wrestling will host a call out meeting Tuesday, Sept. 24 during STAR in the Wrestling Room.

Monday, Sept. 23

  • Girls Golf will play in their sectional tournament at the Legends GC. First tee will be at 10:20 a.m.
  • Girls Varsity soccer will play at Brownsburg at 5:30 p.m.
  • Girls JV Soccer will play at Brownsburg at 7:15 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 24

  • Boys Varsity Soccer will have their Senior Night game @ Home against New Palestine at 5:30 p.m.
  • Boys JAV Soccer will play against New Palestine @ home at 7:15 p.m.
  • Boys Varsity Tennis will play @ Bloomington South 6:00 p.m.
  • Boys JV Tennis at Bloomington South at 6:00 p.m.
  • Both Varsity and JV Volleyball will face off against Lawrence North @ Home at  6:00 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 25

  • Boys Developmental Soccer will play at Lawrence North at 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 26

  • Boys Varsity Soccer will play against southport at home at 5:30 p.m.
  • Boys JV Soccer will play against Southport at home at 7:30 p.m.
  • Varsity, JV, and Freshmen Volleyball will face Bloomington South at home. Varsity and JV will play at 6:00 p.m. while Freshmen will play at 7:15 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 27

  • Varsity Football will play at Lawrence Central at 7:00 p.m.
  • Boys Varsity and JV Tennis will face Jasper at home at 5:30 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 28

  • The Girls Golf Team will play in the Regional Tournament at Smock at 8:00 a.m.
  • Boys and Girls Cross Country will compete in the MIC Meet at North Central
    • Boys Varsity will run at 8:30 a.m.
    • Girls Varsity will run at 9:10 a.m.
    • Boys JV will run at 9:45 a.m.
    • Girls JV will run at 10:15 a.m.
