Academic

On Wednesday, October 30, freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be taking the PSAT.

Since this is neither red nor white day, seniors are encouraged to explore a college visit or to participate in job shadowing. Both of these opportunities provided the appropriate paperwork is filled out and complete, will exempt students from school (and not count toward “S to the 5th” absences).  Students with the completed paperwork need not call in their absence as the returned paper will suffice. Students can find the correct forms below or in the Attendance Office, which need to be turned in to the Attendance Office by Wednesday, Oct. 30. 

• Students visiting colleges must use this form and turn in a verification letter from the college they visited by Friday, Nov. 1
• Students job shadowing must use this form and turn in the bottom portion to the attendance office by Friday, Nov. 1

Class of 2022 schedules will be due this Friday, Nov. 1.

Clubs

Friday, Nov. 1

The FACS department will be hosting Bring a Friend to FACS, where students can bring another student to try out different aspects of various FACS classes.

Music

Marching band will compete in Semi State on Saturday @ Ben Davis at 2 p.m.

Sports

Thursday, Oct. 31

• Girls Varsity Basketball will scrimmage at Avon at 6 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 1

• Varsity Football will play in the Sectional Semi-final Game at Columbus East HS at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 2

• Volleyball will play in the Southern Semi-State at Columbus East HS
  • At 3 p.m., the 4A Championship Match will be played between between CG and New Castle
• Cross Country  (Boys) will run in the State Meet @ LaVern Gibson Course in Terre Haute at 1:00 p.m.
