In an Honors Physics lab, sophomore Gavin Woods prepares to launch his rocket by pressing down on a bicycle pump. His classmates, also working with projectile rockets, were conducting their experiments to collect data for practicing calculations related to vertical motion. “We were measuring the time to see how long the rocket stayed in the air so that we could use that to calculate its speed,” Woods said. “We’re learning about vertical motion, so this lab helped us visualize that.”

Sophomore Hunter Gradert uses a nail gun in Greg Werner's fourth period class. This week, students have been practicing with nail guns to make birdhouses in class. “I like this class because you get to do a lot of hands-on projects,” Gradert said.

Juniors Rabica Tial and Callie Painter sign up for AP Registration in the CGHS Auditorium. Tial and Painter both signed up for AP Lang and AP United Stated History. “Last year was my first year taking an AP class, so I knew how important registration was in order to take my AP tests in May,” Tial said.
This Week At CG (9/2-9/6)
Sophomore Charlie Weir works on a math problem on her desk in Algebra II. The class was playing “math poker”, a game where students strategize and earn prizes for the most questions answered right. “I like it when we play games in class because I have a lot more fun doing my math,” Weir said. “It makes it exciting and everyone is more driven to do well.”
This Week at CG | (8/26-8/30)
Junior Garrison Dowling takes a picture of sophomore Carter Dorrell during the boys soccer team's media day. Sports teams are brought in for different types of pictures that can be used on the Trojaneer Sports instagram, or an athletes personal social media. "I think the environment of media day was fun," Dorrell said. "Being there with all of my teammates helped make it fun for everyone involved. I think this is good for student athletes to experience, so they know how to be comfortable in front of a camera."
This Week at CG | (8/12-8/16)
Freshman Esther Greenwood makes peanut butter balls at the Center Grove Energy Spot. “Right now I’m restocking our peanut butter balls. They’re a fun snack to make and a great source for quick protein.” Greenwood has been working at the Energy Spot for two months and says the peanut butter balls are her favorite thing to make.
