In-person graduation scheduled for July 11
Dr. Jeffry Henderson announced the plan for a graduation commencement today, stating that an in-person, outdoor ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020. The ceremony will take place inside Ray Skillman Stadium and will be live streamed for students and family not in attendance.
In the announcement sent out to families via email, Henderson states there is not a decision made at this time regarding how many guests are allowed to attend. In a survey sent out earlier this month regarding ceremony preferences, there were options ranging from individual STaR Class ceremonies to limited family attendance with up to or over 250 people in attendance. No matter which option is chosen, Henderson said the ceremony will follow all social distancing and health guidelines in place at that time. At this point in time, the delivery of honors chords, stoles, and other items for the senior class is being discussed.
Additionally, a rain date of Sunday, July 12, 2020, has been chosen as the ceremony will take place outside, and throughout the week of May 25, the senior class will be displayed on the electronic sign in front of the main office.
