How did you get started into voice acting?
“It was mainly my brother who helped me be interested in it. He’s done some work, and is still working on it. We would always play games together and read their text lines in weird voices, and it started to develop into voice acting.”
What are some jobs you have done?
“Most of the jobs I’ve gotten have been for characters, to give them personality for shows and things like that. I’ve done some narrating and voiceover work, but just not as much. I just like to have fun with whatever I am doing.”
Do you have a setup at your house?
“When you walk into my room, you see my computer, microphone and camera. It’s not much, but there is only so much you can afford as a high school student.”
How much have you made from your roles?
“For a beginner, it takes a while to get your first job, but I’ve done a few in the six months I’ve been voice acting. So far, I’ve made around $300 on all of the jobs, which is considered pretty high for someone just starting out.”
What is the process like when preparing for a role?
“I know it’s a little weird, but I tend to talk to myself in whatever voice I’m doing. If I’m trying to do a specific line, I keep practicing the line in a few different ways. But, sometimes I’ll improvise and talk in a silly voice and start a conversation with myself.”
